Important Safety Instructions
The following safety instructions cover the installation and use of the Product. Read
carefully and retain for future reference.
Installation
CAUTION: The CTA 160i is intended for connection to both unexposed and exposed
plant. If this device is to be connected to exposed plant, you must ensure that
only devices that have protection from "Over Voltage" conditions are
connected to the CTA 160i, and ensure that it is installed only in an
approved computing device with an approved fire enclosure.
For connection to Norstar/Enterprise Edge equipment only. Do not connect
the teledapt cabling of the CTA 160i to the Public Switched Telephone
Network (PSTN).
WARNING: To avoid electrical shock hazard to personnel or equipment damage observe
the following precautions when installing telephone equipment:
1.
Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
2.
Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed
for wet locations.
3.
Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has
been disconnected at the network interface.
4.
Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
5.
Ensure that the computer is unplugged from both the power socket and any telephone
cables before opening the computer to install the product.
Use
When using the equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce
risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including the following:
1.
Read and understand all instructions.
2.
Follow the warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3.
Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or
aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
