Exit Device Installation

Chassis
Cover
Remove the chassis cover
from the exit device.

Insert end cap bracket to end
of device and mark screw
hole centers. Remove bracket
and prepare door as follows:
For metal door, drill & tap
11/64" (4mm) diameter holes
for #12-24 machine screws.
For wood door, drill a 1/8"
(3mm) diameter pilot hole 1"
deep. Secure bracket to door
with appropriate screws.

Install Strike
Loosely secure the strike with the top and bottom
screws. Adjust strike to make sure the latch of device
engages within the strike securely. Once adjusted,
tighten screws frimly and secure strike in place by
adding and securing the middle screw.

Place exit device onto door,
keeping it horizontally level
and aligning mounting holes
with holes drilled. If you have
an exterior trim that has an
actuating shaft or a tailpiece,
you must allow shaft or tailpiece
to align inside the cam of exit
device. Mount exit device with
appropriate screws, either by
engaging with exterior trim or
securing directly onto door.
Sex bolts
Note: Sexbolts required for metal
door. Sexbolts are highly
recommended for wood door, but
optional wood screws are included.

Device
Counter-clockwise
For Product with Dogging Device:
Use the dogging device to extend the life of the exit
devce during high traffic periods.
To Set Dogging Device:
Depress the push bar, insert the hex wrench and turn
clockwise 35°—this will allow the push bar to remain
depressed with the latch detracted.
To Release the Dogging Device:
While keeping push bar depressed, insert hex
wrench and turn counter-clockwise 35° to release to
normal function.
