PFA Post Extension (14")
The Miller PFA Post Extension is designed to provide a fall arrest
tie-off point for one worker 14" higher than the three standard tie-off
points. The maximum number of workers to be tied-off
to the DuraHoist PFAP system and accessories is
always three.
1.
Place the 14" post extension into the top portion of the Portable
Fall Arrest Post. Align the holes and insert the 3/8" pin com-
pletely through the post.
2.
Connect the fall arrest device to the anchor ring using an appropri-
ate connector.
WARNING
To be used with one person attached to the 14"
extension post, only. Two other workers may be
tied-off to other anchor rings or accessories.
Portable Fall Arrest (PFA) Post Davit Arm Assembly

•
Using the 14" PFA Post Extension combined with the PFA Post Davit Arm de-rates the PFA Post to
only one anchor point on the swivel tie-off rings.
Set-Up of the PFA Post Davit Arm Assembly:
Install the PFA Post/Davit Arm Assembly starting with and
following the installation procedure of the Portable Fall Arrest Post.
1.
Clamp the Davit Arm Assembly over the DH-AP-1 upper
section of Portable Fall Arrest Post. (See A)
2.
Install and secure the Davit Arm Assembly by closing the
sleeve around the DH-AP-1 upper section and tightening the
clamp knob screws. (See B)
3.
Insert the Davit Head Assembly and align one of the three 3/8"
pin holes in the Davit Arm Receiver Tube. Using the pin, se-
cure the Davit Arm into position and vary the offset. (See C1)
4.
Secure the cable assembly to the Portable Fall Arrest Post
using the carabiner provided and connect it to the Davit Arm
anchor ring. (See D).
Using the Davit Arm Assembly
The Davit Arm Assembly is designed with offset adjustability and
360 degree rotation. This Davit Arm Assembly allows the combined
use of an entry/retrieval winch and a self-retracting lifeline (SRL).
1.
Adjust the offset by pulling the pin assembly and selecting the
one of three holes offered in the Davit Arm receiver tube.
(See C2).
Rescue
The Davit Arm can be rotated 360 degrees in a rescue/retrieval situ-
ation so an injured worker can be moved to a safe environment. The
Portable Fall Arrest Post must be used in a vertical position at all times
to effectively rotate the Davit Arm.
When using the DH-AP-1, 2, 3 as a rescue device, remember that the maximum
number of people that can be attached to the system is three. If a rescue could involve
more than three persons (including the person being rescued), additional anchorage points
must be identified to provide adequate protection for everyone.
