3.2 Commissioning and Operation

3.2.1 Installation heigt:
Mount the machine on the wall or on a pillar so that it cannot be pulled
off even under heavy loading.
Passing bolts (threaded rod d = 12 mm) should be used to mount the
machine on the wall. The machine must be mounted on an even wall
so that the housing does not warp.
The cow cleaning machine must be mounted at the right height for the
best cleaning results. The height depends on the size of the animals.
Measure the average withers height of the animals.
Calculate the installation height according to the following formula:
( A ) AVERAGE WITHERS HEIGHT - 68 cm
= ( B ) INSTALLATION HEIGHT
Example: At an average wither height of 135 cm the installation height
is 67 cm (135 cm - 68 cm = 67 cm).

If there are major differences (more than 20 cm) in withers height
within the herd, the machine should be installed somewhat higher, to
prevent greater wear of the brushes.

3.2.2 Connection:

STOP
• The voltage and the frequency must be 230V / 50Hz.
• A 16 A alternative current socket (abbr. AC, a.c.) is required to
connect the machine. The socket may only be installed by an authorised
electrical's company or the manufacturer's or supplier's service tech-
nicians. The socket must be installed out of reach of the animals (above
the machine).
• The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage resulting from
incorrect connection and will not honour any guarantee claims.
• The power cable from the machine to the socket must be protected
so it cannot be reached by the cows. Before operation the machine
should be connected to the stable equipment potential equalisation
system. Observe local safety and earthing regulations. Ask your
electrician for help!
After connecting the electricity supply the machine is ready for
operation after 10 seconds. The cow walks underneath or beside the
machine lifting the brush slightly. This triggers a contact switch to start
the contrate worm gear motor. The brush runs for approx. 60
seconds. A new contact is then required for further cleaning.
If the gear motor is loaded too much, the brush will stop and start
