8.1 Installation of software

1. Insert the CD provided.
2. Open the PcCloneEx folder and then the
"Setup.exe" file.
3. Click "Install", "Next", "Install" and then
"OK".
The program is now installed and ready for use.
8.2 Use of backup software
1. You have a new icon in the notification area.
Double-click it. The PCClone EX Lite program
launches.
2. Click the Files backup icon in the middle of
the screen.
Now select the files that you want to back up.
On the left-hand side of the screen you will see
your computer's disk drive and on the right-
hand side the Security drive.
3. Select the folders and files on the left-hand
side of the screen that you want to back up.
4. Press the button on the front of the box (next
to the LED). A window will open on your
screen.
5. Press the button again. Backup of the selected
files starts.
Every time you want to make a backup copy of
the selected files in future all you have to do is
press the button.
If you would like to change the files and folders
which are backed up, click the "Files backup"
icon in the PCClone EX Lite program.
NB: Your backups will be saved on the Security
drive in a hidden folder called FNET. If you want
the folder to be visible, you must select "Show
hidden files and folders" in Windows' Folder
view.
9 Troubleshooting
No connection
• You must run the enclosed initialisation software
for the disk to appear correctly in Windows.
See section 4.
• If you have connected the box using the
attached cable, it is possible the box may not
receive enough power. Connect the box using
the enclosed Y splitter cable instead. See section
3.2.
• The box must be connected directly to the
computer's USB ports rather than via a USB
hub.
• If you connected the box directly to the
computer using the USB Y splitter cable and
there is still no connection, try to connect it
using another USB port on the computer.
Fingerprint not verified
• Clean your finger.
• Clean the fingerprint sensor on the box.
If your fingerprint is still not verified, you can
use your password instead.
You can also try changing the finger you use for
the fingerprint. See section 6.1.
OTB backup function does not work
• Follow the instructions in section 8.
My computer won't start up when the box is
connected
• Pull out the USB connector and press any key
on your keyboard. Reconnect the USB
connector when the computer has booted up.
