Cleaning & Maintaining Floor & Wall Cleanouts
Watts floor, wall, and stack cleanouts should be checked periodically to ensure
maximum performance. Check for dirt and debris and keep cleanout free and clear
for use.
Maintenance
First remove screws holding top cover. Grip the cleanout top and screw it up and
out of body. Lay aside. Remove gasketed plug. Use gloved hands or tools to
remove any dirt and debris buildup inside the cleanout. Insert drain plug back into
the cleanout and apply cover.

Installation Instructions

1. All leader pipes should be cut so that the height of the finished cleanout is at or
just below the height of the finished floor. The leader pipe should be cut evenly
with no burrs or debris attached.
2. Attach the cleanout body securely to the leader pipe using no hub (standard),
push-on (-P), Inside Caulk (-X), PVC/ABS for direct solvent weld connection
to sch. 40 plastic pipe (PVC -60 ABS -61) or female Threaded (-THD) outlet for
connection to IPS threaded pipe.
3. The finished surface of the cleanout top should be protected during all phases of
construction by the use of tape, cardboard, or other protective materials applied
by the plumber.
4. The cleanout should be set and leveled in place with the top adjusted to the
height of the finished floor before concrete sub-floor can be poured. Concrete
should be flush to top of cleanout body.
5. A membrane clamp (-C) is specified in floors using a waterproofing membrane.
The waterproofing membrane should run up and over the flange. The membrane
clamp is then used to secure the cleanout top.
6. When installing on-grade slab installation, it is recommended to use a bead of
silicone around the last thread of the top assembly.
7. Install finished flooring per manufacturer's instructions.
8. Attach Wall and vertical stack cleanout bodies to behind the wall piping. Install
cleanout plug and access cover.
