Operation
• Mains present
- During normal operation when the mains is present,
the AELU is in standby mode.
- The pilot light and the green LED are lit continuously. The
emergency lighting bulbs and the orange LED are off.
• Mains failure
- In the event of a mains failure, the AELU automatically
switches to emergency mode.
- The emergency lighting bulbs illuminate. The pilot light and
the LEDs go out.
- When the power returns, the AELU is automatically reset to
standby mode (after 30 seconds).
- The green LED flashes while the batteries are recharging,
then stays on continuously.
• Displaying the AELU status
- Operating faults are automatically indicated on the AELU and by the control panel Cat. No. 628 00.
(See the Operation/ Maintenance menu section in the instructions for the control panel).
- When the mains is present, the AELU green and orange LEDs indicate :
Green, steady => AELU operational
Green, flashing => test in progress or batteries charging, following a test or mains failure
Orange, steady => standby power fault or batteries disconnected, replace them
Orange, flashing slowly => pilot light faulty, replace it
Orange, flashing quickly => emergency lighting tube faulty, replace it
Green / orange flashing =>
- system not ready
- programming in progress
- no standby power test for
70 days
Note :
Each time the AELU is powered up or at the end of a correct test, the LEDs will flash green/orange alter-
nately for 30 seconds to confirm that they are in full working order.
Note :
A fault on the pilot light can only be indicated when the batteries are not charging.
Automatic tests
• See the Operation / Managing AELUs section in the instructions for the control panel Cat. No. 628 00.
• The automatic tests are indicated and prompted by the control panel Cat. No. 628 00, which activates the
microprocessor in the AELU :
- every 15 min => AELU status test
- every 7 days => test emergency lighting bulb for 6 seconds
- every 70 days => test emergency lighting bulb and battery standby power for 1 hour
Green / orange off =>
- AELU mains supply switched off
- AELU powered up : manual inspection in progress
: AELU not working
