USING THE PRODUCT
INSERTING & CHANGING BATTERIES
• To insert or change the 2 LR3 batteries (supplied with the thermometer), open the battery
compartment by sliding off its cover, insert the batteries ensuring that the negative and
positive ends are in the right place, and replace the cover before use.
TAKING TEMPERATURE READINGS
Turning the unit on
• Press the ON button to turn on the thermometer.
• The thermometer carries out a self-test. And all screen symbols will
appear for a second (fig. 1).
Mode selection (forehead or object mode)
• There are 2 modes: Forehead mode, to take the body temperature
• The unit is automatically set to work in forehead mode.
• To switch from forehead to object mode (or vice versa), press the MODE button. A beep sound
signals that the change has been correctly performed.
Taking the body temperature
• Check that the current mode is the forehead mode. The
appear on the screen of the Thermo Distance.
• Press and hold down the measuring button whilst taking the temperature.
• Position the thermometer about 6-8 cm from the forehead of the child/adult.
• Adjust the distance between the thermometer and the forehead until the control light stops
flashing and you hear a series of beeps.
• A constant indicator light means that the thermometer is placed at the correct distance from
the forehead and is able take an accurate temperature reading.
• Then release the measuring button, maintaining the position of the thermometer in front of
the forehead of the child/adult.
• After 1 second, another beep sound signals that the temperature has been taken.
The thermometer can then be removed from the forehead of the child/adult.
• The temperature is displayed on the LCD screen and automatically memorised.
Taking the temperature of the room and objects
• To measure the temperature of the surface of an object, a food, a liquid or a room temperature.
• Check the thermometer is currently in object mode. The
appear on the Thermo Distance screen.
• Press the measuring button and position the thermometer about 6-8cm
from the object; release the button and once you hear the end beep, you
can take the thermometer away. (fig. 3).
