6. Place the Rear End Plate (14) and Rear Arbor
Bearing (26) on the Rotor.
In the following step, the Govenor Assembly (17)
has a left–hand thread; rotate the Assembly
counterclockwise to install it.
7. Carefully reinstall the Governor Assembly into
the Arbor.
GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENT
When installing a new Governor Assembly, screw the
Adjusting Nut onto the governor stem until dimension "A"
equals 1–13/16" (46 mm). This will usually result in the
proper governed free speed. However, this is only an
approximate setting; to obtain a more precise setting a
tachometer should be used. Screw the nut farther onto the
stem to increase the speed; back it off to decrease the
speed. Refer to drawing TPD497.

10. Rotate the Motor Housing in the vise.
11. Reinstall the appropriate Impeller Shim (16).

1. Place the Arbor Bearing Spring (58), Arbor Bearing
Spacer (25), and the Front Arbor Bearings (44) on the
Arbor (47).
2. Install the Front Arbor Bearing Seat (57) against the
Front Bearing.
3. Place the Impeller Spacer (45) on the Arbor.
4. Carefully place the two Water Seals (4) in the Motor
Housing (1) with the seals facing each other.
5. In required, replace the Impeller Hub Bushing (2).
6. Clamp the Motor Housing (1) in leather–covered or
copper–covered vise jaws, Impeller end down.
7. Carefully guide the assembled Arbor/Motor into the
Motor Housing.
8. Place the Backhead (36) onto the Motor Housing,
making sure that the Cylinder Dowel (13) seats in the
dowel hole.
9. Secure the Backhead with the Housing Nut (16).
Impeller (56) and secure it with the Arbor Nut (54).
