KEY FUNCTIONS
Emergency Key (12)
This dual-function key controls two functions. This key can be programmed
directly via key pad by setting the menu function #19. By pressing shortly
the emergency key (12), the emergency alarm or the 1750 Hz is transmit-
ted. More information about programming the emergency key (12) can be
found in the section MENU 19.
1. emergency alarm
The emergency call will be send after pressing the emergency key (12).
Transmission stops automatically after 16 seconds or after pressing the PTT
key (13).
2. 1750Hz repeater tone
Transmit the 1750 Hz tone by pressing the emergency key (12). Transmis-
sion stops automatically after 4 seconds or after second, short press of
key.
A long press of the emergency key (12) will control the flashlight.
PTT transmit key
The transmit key (13) is located on the left side of the radio. Pressing the
PTT key (13) switches the radio into transmission mode. The control LED
(22) lights up red.
[p] Up Key (fm radio/channel scan) (14)
In receipt mode this twin function key controls two functions: fm radio and
channel scan.
Short press of the Up key [p] (14) turns the radio on or off. For more infor-
mation about the radio function see paragraph Fm-Radio.
Long press of the Up key [p] (14) starts the channel scan. To stop the
scan function press any key.

FM-Radio
To turn on the radio press the twin function key [p] (14) shortly.
The desired frequency can be selected in the range of 87-107.9 MHz
with the channel selector or via key pad.
In addition, a frequency scan function can be used to search for radio
channels. The STD key [STD] (10) starts the upward channel scan. During
scanning SCAN-UP is displayed and the symbol FM blinks in the upper left

corner. For downward scanning use the SET key [SET] (11) and SCAN-DN
will be displayed. Once a channel is detected the scanning function stops
and the found chanel is on. To stop the scanning function in action press
any keypad key.
Channel Scan
The channel scan function is started by long press of the twin function key
[p] (14). Scanning pauses or stops on occupied frequencies depending
on the selected scanning mode (see paragraph Scan. To stop the scan
function press the PTT key [PTT] (13).
Hint:
In the radio version TeCom-DB-C, the channels of the scan list are searched
for signals. By default all preset channels are activated for scanning.
Editing of the scan list can only be done via programming software.
In the radio version TeCom-DB-H, the programmed channels of the scan list
are scanned with the selected display modes CHANNEL, NAME and
FREQ.CH.
In the display mode FREQ., the entire active frequency band VHF or UHF is
scanned in the selected step sizes - see paragraph 11 step sizes for more in-
formation. In dual-band mode the main frequency band (A/B) is scanned.
[q] Down Key (Seconds/Monitor) (15)
In receipt mode, this twin function key is preset with the functions stop
watch and monitor.
Stop Watch
Short press of the down key [q] (15) starts and pauses the stop watch
function, which counts a maximum of 999 seconds. To turn off the stop
watch function press the up key [p] (14) or the EXIT key [EXIT] (9).
Please note: this function is only available if the stop watch function in the
menu setting no. 20 is activated.
Monitor
Long press of the down key [q] (15) activates the monitor key. As soon as
the PTT key (13) is released, the monitor function stops.
