7.2 Restrictions concerning aqueous cleaning agents
Alkaline Risk of damage to the unit: Do not use cleaning solutions containing more than 0.5 mass % alkali (KOH and/or NaOH) in
solutions the ultrasonic cleaning tank.
KOH Potassium hydroxide solution will cause stress-crack corrosion in the ultrasonic tank.
Entrainment of chemical substances
The above limitations for the use of the ultrasonic tank also apply if the aforementioned chemical compounds are introduced
into an aqueous bath (in particular with distilled water) through entrainment or from the removed dirt.
Example • Ultrasound-aided rinsing of items that were previously etched with hydrofluoric acid or ammoniumbifluoride.
Disinfectants These restrictions also apply to commercially available cleaning agents and disinfectants if these
contain the aforementioned compounds.
Acid-resistant tank If using the aforementioned media, use a corresponding acid-resistant tank. Contact your supplier to enquire
about available options.
Safety instructions Observe the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer of the chemicals
(e.g. safety glasses, gloves, R and S phrases). If in doubt, contact the manufacturer or supplier.
Exclusion of liability The manufacturer does not accept any liability for damage caused by the failure to observe the restrictions stated in
chapters 8.1 and 8.2!
