N.B.:
This action reduces considerably the lifetime of your electrodes.
Storing the machine
When you store the machine, several precautions should be taken.
• Check that the clamp has cooled down. If it has not, slide it into the sleeve designed for this
purpose.
• Store the electric cables in the case, checking that they are not caught in it.
• Ensure that the power cable is disconnected and the switch at the off position. Never store
the cables if the machine is still connected.
Cobraz 54 option: hard soldering
The Cobraz 54 may be used for hard soldering with silver (45% silver). Hard soldering is
undertaken on tubes of diameter 6 to 18 mm.
Silver soldering
• Select and fix the prismatic electrodes.
• Connect the soldering machine to a correctly earthed 220V socket.
• Switch the machine on using the switch (3).
• Apply a fine layer of flux on the end of the tube to be soldered.
• Slide on the connecting piece and rotate both tubes to spread the flux well.
• Put the electrodes on the tube at the point of junction. The electrodes start to heat up after
they come into contact with the tube.
• Apply the soldering paste in the area of the joint.
• Remove the electrodes from the tube.
• Cover the hot clamp in the flameproof sleeve before storing it.
Observation:
You can use the Cobraz with the case closed. To do so, check that the electric cables are not in
the case. If they are they may heat up and damage the case.
Removing a silver soldered connection
• Select the prismatic electrodes and fix them.
• Connect the soldering machine to a correctly earthed 220V socket.
• Switch the machine on using the switch (3).
• Put the electrodes on the connection and allow them to heat up.
• Using a clamp, pull on the tube to be slid out.
• Remove the electrodes from the tube.
• Cover the hot clamp in the flameproof sleeve before storing it.
Observation:
You can use the Cobraz with the case closed. To do so, check that the electric cables are not in
the case. If they are they may heat up and damage the case.
