Instructions for use
Compressed air filler valve with pressure reducer
for compression sprayers with metal tank
FERRUM / FERRUM PLUS / RESISTENT / RESISTENT PLUS
No. 6210A with motor car tyre valve connection
No. 6210B with plug-in coupling
FERROX / FERROX PLUS / INOX / INOX PLUS
No. 6210NA with motor car tyre valve connection
No. 6210NB with plug-in coupling
Proper use
the Air filler valve
is produced in line with the latest developments in engeneering and according to accepted safety
regulations. Nevertheless, hazards for the user or third parties and risks of damage to the sprayer and other
assets can occur if not used properly
is intended solely to the safe charging of metal compression sprayer MESTO FERRUM (PLUS) and
RESISTENT (PLUS) with compressed air coming from external sources. Any other use is not proper. The
manufacturer / supplier is not liable for any damage.
Proper use also includes: Complying with these Instructions for use.
For your safety
Pressurize tank and use sprayer only in upright position
Maximum pressure admitted:
Compressed air supply line.......................... 10 bars
Working pressure (pressure reducer outlet)..
Changes on the Air filler valve or pressure reducer are not allowed under no circumstances. In case of
malfunctions , take the Air filler valve out of operation and have it repaired and readjusted
Before use of the sprayer, check perfect condition of tank inside and outside (no leaks, no corrosions,
no deformations) and of all other components of the machine. Check carefully also threaded
connections of Air filler valve and tank. The O-ring washer on the Air filler valve may not be missing.
The connection between the compressed air supply line and the Air filler valve must be completely tight.
It may not loosen unintentionally
Before taking off the Air filler valve, release the residual pressure eventually still remaining in the tank
, by pulling the red knob of the safety valve
Make sure that liquids used in the tank do not cause harm to the materials of the Air filler valve (PP,
brass, Viton). See also Instructions for use for the sprayer.
Operation
Unscrew air pump from tank and insert Air filler valve.
The built-in pressure reducer is continuously adjustable between
0 bars = Adjusting wheel turned fully to the left (flow shut off), and
6 bars = Adjusting wheel turned fully to the right
Always begin to regulate the working pressure from the lowest setting of the pressure reducer by starting at
the left and turning the adjusting wheel slowly to the right during the filling.
When beginning to charge the tank with compressed air, pay attention to the piston type pressure gauge on
the sprayer on to the highest pressure admitted for this kind of sprayer ( 6 bars). Pull upwards red knob of
the safety valve; on releasing, it must return to it's initial position.
If the sprayer remains connected with the compressed air supply line during the spraying operation, it is
recommended to limit the working pressure in the tank to the optimum spraying pressure of the nozzle (1,5
to 4 bars; as per type of nozzle in use; see Instructions for use of sprayer). Sprayed liquid is permanently
replaced by compressed air and the pressure in the tank remains constant.
