Troubleshooting
If the equipment fails to operate after you have read the instructions, follow the suggestions listed
below. If the problem persists, please call AbleNet Customer Service at 1-800-322-0956 (US and
Canada).
Do not attempt to dismantle this product. There are no serviceable parts.
Is PowerLink receiving power?
1. Does the wall outlet work with other devices?
2. Check to be sure the PowerLink is plugged into the wall outlet.
Check to be sure the power cord is plugged into the PowerLink.
3. Press the breaker button firmly to ensure that a circuit has not been broken. When broken,
the breaker button will be extended, press this button back in until it clicks.
4. Turn on the PowerLink.
If the PowerLink lights turn on, move on to the next step.
Is the Appliance in good working condition?
1. Plug the appliance into a wall outlet.
2. Turn the appliance ON.
3. If the appliance has a pressure-sensitive switch (e.g., coffee grinder), tape the switch in the
ON position.
If the appliance is working, re-attach it to the PowerLink and move on to the next step.
Does the PowerLink activate the Appliance with the Status buttons?
1. Put the PowerLink in "Direct" mode.
2. Press the "Status" button on the side where the appliance is plugged into the PowerLink.
If the appliance activates, move on to the next step.
Do switches activate the PowerLink and Appliance?
1. Attach any corded switch to the switch jack
2. Press the switch.
If the appliance activates, your PowerLink appears to be functioning normally. If you continue to
have problems, contact AbleNet technical support at 800-322-0956.
Have any wireless switches/transmitters become un-linked from the PowerLink?
1. Check the wireless transmitter to ensure fresh batteries and power ON.
2. Make sure the wireless transmitter and the PowerLink are within 30 feet of each other.
3. Re-link wireless switches using the steps on page 5.
For Your Safety

Read the instructions for all appliances and devices before using them with the PowerLink.
2.
Use caution when placing any appliance near a user (especially appliances that have moving
parts or that generate heat, such as mixers and light bulbs).
3.
Keep the floor clear of cords to avoid trips and falls, and to prevent the PowerLink or a con-
nected appliance from being pulled to the floor. Position all cords near the wall. Always keep
cords out of
the reach of children.
4.
Unplug the control unit when not in use and store it where it will not be pulled or dropped from
a table accidentally.
5.
Do not immerse the PowerLink control unit or any appliances in water. Do not place them in a
location where they may get wet.
6.
Do not open the PowerLink control unit to expose its interior.
7.
To prevent injury, unplug the appliance(s) before opening the lid to a blender or food processor.
8.
To prevent accidental activation of an appliance via a wireless transmitter or switch, unplug the
PowerLink when not in use.
