Installation:
1. Insert the Upper Boot into the bin collar opening and rotate to align with direction that auger
line will go. The Upper Boot must be inserted into collar as far as it will go. Using the holes in
the Collar or ring as a template; drill eight (8) 11/32" (8.8mm) diameter holes in the Upper Boot
rim. Attach the Upper Boot to the Bin Collar using the hardware provided. See Figure 1 for
correct orientation and assembly of hardware. Hardware should be tightened evenly around
the Bin Collar to avoid uneven stresses applied to Upper Boot.
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow these instructions may cause breakage of Upper boot.
Caution: Nylon Nuts should be tightened until they are "snug." Over tightening of nuts can
2. Attach the Transfer Plate to the Upper Boot using the hardware provided in the predrilled
holes. (See Figure 1). Transfer Plate should be orientated so that the Slide Gate slot is
opposite the anchor bearing end. Please note that screw heads are located on the inside of
the Transfer Plate, with nylon washer located under the nuts. Again the tightening sequence
should be evenly around the Transfer Plate/Upper Boot to avoid uneven stresses on Upper
Boot.
Note: It may be necessary to enlarge holes in either the Upper Boot or Transfer Plate to
ensure proper alignment between the two; especially between different OEM manufacturers.
3. Insert the Slide Gate into the Transfer Plate slot so that it is in its operating position before
bolting the Slide Shield in place. Fasten the Slide Shield to the Transfer Plate using two 5/16"-
18 x 3/4" screws, washers and nuts to secure Shield.
4. Prior to assembling the unloader to transfer plate, the correct restrictor plate configuration (if
any) should be assembled to the unloader for the specific application with supplied 5/16-18 x
¾" Bolts and Nuts. Please see Figure 2 for a guide.
Restrictor Baffles are supplied with GrowerSelect Unloader Kits (some require assembly) and
are available for separate purchase from any Hog Slat Store or through Hog Slat catalog
sales.
PLEASE NOTE: It is up to the individual end user and installer to decide the proper
restrictor plate assembly and location based on individual application and feed type. It
is not recommended that the slide gate be used to restrict feed flow. The following
chart is a guide only.
