Read the whole of this book before commencing work with the unit.
The book applies to a range of Techne refrigerated baths. Hence
paragraphs or sections without a heading or reference apply to all units
while paragraphs or sections with headings apply to specific units. For
other refrigerated units there is a separate booklet.
The Techne fridge units are designed to cool liquids to temperatures around
ambient and below by extracting heat continuously. The temperature
is controlled by a temperature controller with a heater adding heat as
necessary. Depending upon the circuit and the application this could be a
Techne Thermoregulator, TE-10 series or TU-20 series Each unit, fridge or
controller, has its particular application which should be considered when
setting up a temperature controlled system.
The refrigerated baths have integral baths and have refrigeration coils within
the bath. They are designed to work with Techne thermoregulators. The
Fridge Bath works best when there is a good flow of liquid over the coil.
