Possible causes
The batteries are exhausted.
The batteries are inserted
the wrong way around.
The position used to take
the measurement is
incorrect.
The sensor or ear canal is
dirty.
The measurement interval is
too short.
When the temperature is
outside the measurement
range, i.e. when the
temperature of the ear is
over 43.0 °C, the LCD display
will show the "HI" message.
When the temperature of
the target object is outside
the measurement range, i.e.
when the temperature of
the ear is under 34 °C, the
LCD display will show the
"LO" message.
This product' s maximum
operating temperature is
43 °C. When the
temperature exceeds this
value, the "Er.H" error
message will appear on the
LCD display.
This product' s lowest
operating temperature is
10°C. When the
temperature drops below
this value, the "Er.L" error
message will appear on the
LCD display.
When the ambient
temperature changes
quickly, the "Err" message
will appear during
measurements and the
device will switch o
automatically.
Solutions
Replace with new batteries.
Insert the batteries as
shown on the battery
compartment.
Measure the temperature
correctly as described in the
instructions.
Remove all dirt before
taking the measurement.
The interval for each
measurement should be
longer than 10 seconds.
