Connections
The very low frequency range reproduced by the DTRIX15 active
subwoofer (38÷120 Hz) is essentially omnidirectional allowing easy
installation of the enclosure.
In most cases the subwoofer can be placed near the satellites,
but but in case of space needs or set up reasons, the subwoofer
can be positioned at some distance from the speaker system
(e.g.: under the stage floor).
Always consider that the extended low frequency range increases
the risk of acoustic feedback, with undesired "howls" and reduced
clarity. It is thus essential to place the subwoofer on a rigid
structure, that does not transmit vibrations to the microphones.
Connection of the SUBWOOFER to the MIXER
mixer L/R outputs ➟ SUBWOOFER L/R INPUTS (2)
• Always make sure to use only heavy gauge, high quality
SHIELDED cables, with XLR or jack connector.
• Connect the L-R outputs of the mixer to the L-R inputs of the
subwoofer (2).
Note: XLR inputs are balanced according to IEC 268.
- If the mixer has XLR balanced outputs: use standard balanced
XLR connectors.
- If the mixer has XLR unbalanced outputs: in this case, unless
using a Montarbo mixer, make sure that the XLR outputs on the
mixer are unbalanced to IEC 268 standard:
1 = GND, 2 = HOT, 3 = GND.
- If the mixer has JACK balanced outputs (stereo jacks):
it is possible to use stereo Jack-stereo Jack cables or stereo jack-XLR
adapters, wired according to IEC 268:
pin 1 = ground (sleeve), pin 2 = tip, pin 3 = ring.
- If the mixer has JACK unbalanced outputs (mono jacks): use
suitable Jack-XLR male adapters unbalanced according to IEC 268:
pin 1=ground, pin 2= tip, pin 3=ground.
By using a mono jack connector the signal is automatically
unbalanced.

Connection of the SUBWOOFER to the PASSIVE
SATELLITES SAT81
SUBWOOFER L/R power outputs (4) ➟ PASSIVE SATELLITES
inputs (11)
• Use only the factory supplied cables or loudspeaker cables
(unscreened) having suitable cross section (at least 2 x 1 mm
and quality.
Do not twist or sharply bend the cables and do not allow for knots
to be formed, because they may result in insulation damage.
• Connect the L-R power outputs of the subwoofer (4) to the two
passive satellites.
• Be sure to rotate the Speakon ® connector clockwise until it locks
in place.
• The subwoofer volume control ('input level') is also the volume
control of the passive satellites.

Connection of other active systems
DTRIX15 INPUT connectors are wired in parallel with XLR male
sockets (LINK): this allows for easy parallel connection of other
active systems i.e. power monitors.
L/R SUBWOOWER LINK outputs (3) ➟ active systems inputs
• Always make sure to use only heavy gauge, high quality
SHIELDED cables.
• Connect the subwoofer L-R LINK outputs to the inputs of
other active systems.
 See 'connection examples' on page 46.

mixer L/R outputs ➟ L/R inputs of the first SUBWOOFER (2)
• Always make sure to use only heavy gauge, high quality
SHIELDED cables, with XLR or jack connector.
By using a mono jack connector the signal is automatically
unbalanced.
• Connect the L-R outputs of the mixer to the L-R inputs of the
subwoofer (2).
L/R outputs of the first SUBWOOFER (3) ➟ L/R inputs of the
second SUBWOOFER (2)
• Always make sure to use only heavy gauge, high quality
SHIELDED cables.
• Connect the L-R LINK outputs (3) of the first subwoofer to
the L-R inputs of the second subwoofer (2) .
 See connection example on page 47.
