7. Setting in continuous mode (use of
continuous flow ventilators and HFO)
• Place the mode selector of the unit in the
"continuous" position (green and yellow LEDs lit).
• Place the unit flow selector switch to the range
position chosen ("low" or "high"). Adjust the "pres-
sure" alarm on the unit * to the value given by the rule
or equations, then set the pressure regulator to the
same value.

Fit the NO injection connector onto the inspiratory
arm (on the heating humidifier outlet, if fitted,
otherwise upstream of the Y connector).
Check overall operation is correct (green and yellow
LED's lit constantly). In the event of problems, refer
to the alarm and malfunctions table on page 7.
8. Setting in sequential mode (usual indi-
cations in volumetric ventilation - controlled
ventilation)
• Place the mode selector of the unit in the "sequential"
position.
• Place the unit flow selector switch to the range
position chosen ("low" or "high"). Adjust the "pres-
sure" alarm on the unit * to the value given by the rule
or equations, then set the pressure regulator to the

Version 3.0 12/2001.
• Fit the inspiration detection connector onto the
inspiratory arm on the ventilator outlet.
• Fit the NO injection connector onto the inspiratory
arm (on the heating humidifier
otherwise upstream of the Y connector).
Check overall operation is correct (green LED lit and
yellow LED flashing in time with the respiratory rhythm).
* The pressure value set on the encoder wheel of the
OPTI-NO allows the pressure set on the pressure
regulator to be monitored permanently, as well as the
pressure in the bottle (empty bottle).
As soon as the pressure at the pressure regulator
outlet reaches ± 20 % the value set on the encoder
wheel, the "pressure" alarm is tripped (see alarm
table on page 7).
