Adjusting the Cutting Height
WARNING
Adjusting the cutting height may bring you into
contact with the moving blade, causing serious
injury.
• Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
• Do not put your fingers under the housing when
adjusting the cutting height.
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the muffler will be
hot and can severely burn you. Keep away from the
hot muffler.
Adjust the cutting height as desired. Set all 4 wheels to the
same height.
Note: To raise the machine, move all the cutting-height
levers forward; to lower the machine, move the all the
cutting-height levers rearward (Figure 9).

Note: The cutting height settings are 1 inch (25 mm); 1-1/2
inch (38 mm); 2 inches (51 mm); 2-1/2 inches (64 mm); 3
inches (76 mm); 3-1/2 inches (89 mm); and 4 inches (102
mm).

2. Lower the machine
Starting the Engine
1. Hold the blade-control bar (Figure 10) against the
handle.

2. Turn the ignition key (Figure 11) or pull recoil-start
handle (Figure 12).
Note: If the machine does not start after several
attempts, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
Using the Self-propel Drive
To operate the self-propel drive, squeeze the self-propel drive
bar (Figure 13) toward the handle and hold it.
