Locking Pins
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Installation For On Truck Operation:
A . Connect the Apollo PE to the truck mount flange by placing the inlet connector tabs between the truck mount flange connection
ears (Figure 1) . The shoulders on the inlet connector tabs should be toward the rear of the truck (Figure 2) . Insert the locking
pins on the truck mount flange fully through the holes of the mounting flange tabs and inlet connector ears one at a time . It may
be necessary to provide downward pressure on the Apollo PE while inserting the locking pins to help align the inlet connector tab
holes with the holes on the truck mount flange ears . Make sure both pins are inserted fully through both flange ear and inlet tab .
B . Once fully mounted to the truck flange, the vertical safety stop override key may be installed if desired . The vertical safety stop
override key is mounted to the front of the truck mount flange with a lanyard . When installed, this key will allow the Apollo PE
nozzle to travel from +35° to -20° . The key is installed by pulling out the elevation safety stop plunger pin and inserting the key
between the top of the plunger pin and the base of the plunger assembly .
C .
If lowering the nozzle between +35° to -20° will cause physical interference or cause the stream from the
monitor to contact any portion of the truck, do not install the override key . Raise the nozzle above 35°and verify that the vertical
safety stop override plunger pin clicks into position (inward) . You should not be able to lower the nozzle below 35° when the
vertical safety stop override plunger pin is in place .
D . Connect the appropriate nozzle to the Apollo PE outlet . If using an electrically operated nozzle, connect the pattern control
motor on the nozzle to the coiled cord on the Apollo PE harness . Make sure the nozzle is oriented such that it can move through
the entire elevation range without interference from the monitor .
E . If a panel mounted operator station is used to control the monitor when mounted to the truck, connect it to the Apollo PE
controller using the 4 pin CAN connector (Figure 2) .
F . Connect the power harness to the Apollo PE power input connector (Figure 2) .
G . Press the power switch on the controller to the "ON" position (up) (Figure 2) .
H . The Apollo PE is now ready to be used with the handheld wireless controller (or truck mounted
operator station if present) .
