SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Warning: risk of fire and electrical shock! Before beginning installation or service, disconnect the power by turning off the circuit
breaker. Turning the power off by using the light switch is not sufficient to prevent electrical shock. This floodlight is for outdoor use
and should not be used in areas of limited ventilation or high ambient temperature. All work should be performed by a qualified electri-
cian. This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and
operation of the product and the hazards involved.
INSTALLATION:
FIG. 1
FIG. 2
MOUNTING WITH EXTENSION ARM:
1. Attach the two piece mounting bracket to the extension arm by in-
terlocking the bracket and securing with the bolt and hex nut provid-
ed, leaving approximately one inch of the extension arm protruding
out of the bottom of the bracket.
2. Place the extension arm assembly onto the desired mounting sur-
face and mark the four hole locations required for mounting. Remove
the arm assembly and drill the four marked locations for ease of
mounting.
3. Mount the extension arm assembly using the hex head lag bolts
provided. Tighten these bolts securely before proceeding.
4. Feed supply wires through the arm and make wiring connections to
the light fixture.
5. Secure arm to light fixture using bracket and bolts provided.
NOTE: This fixture is intended to be conduit connected to a properly in-
stalled and properly grounded weatherproof junction box (not provided).
All conduit connectors, conduit and junction boxes (not provided) should
be UL listed suitable for wet locations.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MOUNTING WITHOUT EXTENSION ARM:
1. Place the fixture against the desired mounting surface and fasten in
place using the bolts provided.
2. Remove the wiring cover and punch out the desired wiring hole. Re-
place the cover with the three wires threaded through the open hole.
3. Using the provided wire nuts, splice the fixture wires to the supply
wires – green to green (ground), black to black (hot), and white to
white (neutral).
4. Push the splices into the wiring compartment.
PHOTOCONTROL SETUP:
1. Insert the photocontrol into the photocontrol receptacle/socket on
top of the fixture by aligning the large prong on the photocontrol with
the large opening in the photocontrol receptacle/socket. Push down
on photocontrol and twist clockwise to lock. Make sure photocontrol
receptacle/socket does not rotate while installing photocontrol. THE
PHOTOCONTROL MUST BE LOCKED IN! The window or arrow
on top of photocontrol should be pointed away from the mounting
surface. The receptacle/socket may be repositioned by loosening
the screw in the center of the photocontrol receptacle/socket. Rotate
to new position and retighten screw. Do not rotate receptacle/socket
over 360 degrees because you can twist receptacle/socket wires,
damaging the insulation and causing the fixture to fail.
2. To check operation during daylight hours, cover the photocontrol
window with black electrical tape. Never use aluminum foil to cover
photocontrol or any other material that carries electricity. NOTE: not
all photocontrols are alike. When power is first applied, some pho-
tocontrols will turn the light on and turn off in two or three minutes.
This is normal and not a cause for concern. If the photocontrol were
defective it would operate with light on all the time, day and night.
Allow 3 to 5 minutes for the fixture to turn off or on when testing.
3. Turn on the electric power and the fixture should light within 2 min-
utes. It will take approximately 5-7 minutes for the fixture to achieve
full brilliance.
4. Remove the tape from the photocontrol and the fixture will operate
automatically-on at dusk, off at dawn. NOTE: leaving the photocon-
trol covered with tape or other material for several hours can cause
damage to the photocontrol and the fixture.
Connect to 120-277 volts AC only.
Troubleshooting checklist – if light does not work:
✓ Check your power source.
✓ Check electrical connections.
