Using the Hold switch

You can lock your player controls so that you do not accidentally change
settings.
To lock and unlock your player's controls:
1 Slide the HOLD switch to the right to lock the controls.
2 Slide the HOLD switch to the left to unlock the controls.

Using the anti-shock feature

When you play a CD, the anti-shock feature reduces or eliminates skipping
when you move your player. You can turn the anti-shock feature on and off
when playing audio CDs. When you play MP3 or WMA CDs, the anti-shock
feature is always on.
To turn the anti-shock feature on or off:
• Press and hold the ESP button for about one second to turn on the
anti-shock feature. When the anti-shock feature is turned on, ESP
appears on the LCD.
• Press and hold the ESP button again to turn off the anti-shock feature.
Caution: If your player experiences excessive and continuous shock, the
memory buffer overloads and music skips.
Notes:
• When the anti-shock feature is turned on, the battery charge is used
faster because the CD rotates faster.
• If the CD is dirty, scratched, or warped, it may skip even though the
anti-shock feature is turned on.
