ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
The interface complies with EMC standards (electromagnetic compatibility) but requires correct installation to
avoid compromising its performance and that of the instruments in the vicinity.
For this reason the cables of the interface must be positioned at a distance of at least:
• 1 m away from cables that carry radio signals (except for SSB radio transmitters).
• 2 m away from cables that carry SSB radio transmitter radio signals.
Follow the rules below to construct the electrical plant relative to the interface:
• Before switching on the power to the interface, check that all the electrical connections are correct.
• Insert a switch to switch the interface on and off.
• Insert a fast-acting 100 mA fuse on the power line to the interface.
• Use an unscreened cable with a braided pair (cross section 0.25/ 0.35 mm2 AWG 22/24, impedance 100/150
ohm) for data interface connection (CANH and CANL signals).
• The KTBS sensor has no polarity, therefore the wires CAN be connected in any order.
• The data cable cannot be more than 100 meters long.
There are two terminal clamps on the interface for the various connections to the electrical signals:
