Congratulations on choosing NuTone loudspeakers! Great
care has been taken in their design, choice of material and
manufacture to maximize their performance at affordable
cost. When used individually with other 8 Ohm stereo
speakers in any 8 Ohm stereo amplifier system or in
combination with other NuTone 8 Ohm stereo speakers in
the "MS" series, they will provide years of excellent,
balanced and distortion-free listening pleasure.
INTRODUCTION
The MS-825 and MS-828 are high quality two-way speakers,
meaning there is a woofer which reproduces only the lower
bass frequencies in music and a tweeter which reproduces
upper high frequencies.
MS-825 has a 5 1 ⁄ " woofer with poly mica cone with butyl

rubber edge or surround to give crisp bass tones. The
tweeter is a 3 ⁄ " high efficiency, pleasant sounding Titanium

dome which can be swiveled to any desired position.
MS-828 has an 8" woofer with poly mica cone and butyl
rubber surround and 3 ⁄ " Titanium swivel dome tweeter.

MS-825 and MS-828 are acoustically matched to other
stereo speakers in the "MS" series. Hence, a well-balanced
home theater system can be built using the
optimally-engineered speaker components. The "MS" series
includes a variety of two-way and three-way in-wall
speakers, two-way ceiling speakers, center channel speaker,
sub-woofer and two-way indoor/outdoor speakers to
complete a system.
SWIVEL DOME TWEETER AND TWEETER
LEVEL CONTROL
Both MS-825 and MS-828 have dome tweeters which can
be swiveled 360° on its axis and about 15° up or down with
respect to its surface. Therefore, these speakers can be
installed almost anywhere and the tweeter can then be
swiveled to point to the main listening area so that the highly
directional high frequencies can be clearly heard. Woofers
are non-directional, meaning the low frequency tones they
produce spread out and can be heard anywhere. Hence,
woofers do not need to be swiveled.

The tweeters in MS-825 and MS-828 also have two-position
tweeter level control switches which can be adjusted to high,
if desired. When the switch is at the 0 dB position, the high
frequency sound from tweeter will be normal. When it is
moved to the 3 dB position, the sound will be louder.
Experiment with the two positions to determine the best high
frequency sound output level from your tweeter, as the
loudness of high frequencies are dependent on personal
taste. In rooms with heavy draperies, curtains and furniture,
you may want to increase the tweeter sound level output
because the furniture tends to absorb high frquencies more
than in a room without them.

INSTALLATION
You will need the following:
• Pencil
• Masking Tape
• Drill & Drill Bits
• Utility Knife
• Keyhole Saw, recommended if installing in plaster walls
• #2 Phillips Screwdriver
• Wire Cutter & Stripper
• Small Level (optional)
• Stud Finder (optional)
Once you have selected the location for your speakers, you
are ready to install them.
CAUTION: Be certain electrical wires, water pipes or
heating ducts do not interfere in the planned installation
areas prior to drilling or cutting the wall.
If there is an electrical outlet nearby, turn off the circuit breaker
to avoid injury.
