Application
Can be used in conjunction with: Pressurised storage heaters,
thermally and hydraulically controlled instantaneous heaters.
Operation with low-pressure displacement water heaters is not
possible.
Specifications
• Flow pressure
• Operating pressure
• Test pressure
If static pressure is greater than 5 bar, fit pressure reducer.
Avoid major pressure differences between hot and cold water
supply.
• Flow rate at 3 bar flow pressure
• Temperature
Hot water inlet:
Recommended:
• Water connection
Installation
Flush pipes thoroughly!
Installation and connection
See fold-out page III, Fig. [1].
Refer to the dimensional drawings on fold-out page I.
Fit pop-up waste set.
See fold-out page II. Seal plug-hole rim.
Open hot and cold-water supply and check connections for
leakage!
Check fitting for correct operation, see fold-out page III, Fig. [2].
Temperature limiter
On delivery, the temperature limiter (fitted as standard) is
inoperative.
For commissioning see "Replacing the cartridge" point 1 to 4.
Remove temperature limiter (H) and, depending on the maximum
temperature required, turn clockwise (to increase temperature) or
anticlockwise (to reduce temperature) and refit,
see Figs. [3] and [4].
Flow rate limiter
This mixer is fitted with a flow rate limiter, permitting an infinitely
individual variable reduction in the flow rate.
The highest possible flow rate is set by the factory before despatch.
The use of flow rate limiters in combination with hydraulic
instantaneous water heaters is not recommended.
For commissioning see "replacing the cartridge" point 1 to 5,
Fig. [3] and [5].
Maintenance
Inspect and clean all parts, replace as necessary and grease with
Grohe special grease (order no. 18 012).
Shut off hot and cold water supply!
I. Replacing the cartridge, see Fig. [3].
1. Lever out plug (A).
2. Remove set screw (B) using a 3mm socket spanner and pull off
lever (C).
3. Release screw (D) and pull off collar (E).
4. Unscrew cap (G).
5. Pull off temperature limiter (H).
6. Remove screws (J) and detach complete cartridge (K).
7. Change complete cartridge (K).
Assemble in reverse order.
min. 0.5 bar - recommended 1 - 5 bar
max. 10 bar
approx. 8 L/min
(maximum) 80 °C
(energy saving) 60 °C
Caution!
In this process, note the relative positions of the
collar (E) and lever (C). The lugs (L) on the collar (E) must engage
the central recesses (M) in the lever (C), see Fig. [6].
Make sure that the cartridge seals engage in the grooves on the
housing. Fit screws (J) and tighten evenly and alternately.
II. Unscrew and clean flow straightener (13 960),
see fold-out page II.
Assemble in reverse order.

Instructions for care
Dear customer!
We thank you for the confidence you have shown in us by choosing
a Grohe product.
The surface of our fittings, whether chrome, or gold plated, colour
cold - right
coating or of plastic are produced using the best materials and
hot - left
proven processes that are constantly monitored by advanced
quality assurance methods.
To derive long-lasting pleasure from your fitting and preserve its
attractive appearance, please note the following.
Water contains lime, to a greater or lesser extent, which is retained
on the surface of the fitting leaving marks after the water droplets
have evaporated.
You can prevent lime-marks from forming by getting into the habit of
always wiping the fitting dry immediately after use, e.g. with the
towel. This takes very little trouble and will ultimately save time.
In this way, your fitting will always be clean.
Should it become necessary to clean the fitting, however, all that is
required to remove minor marks is to wipe it over with a wet, soapy
cloth or flannel, rinse off and wipe dry with a towel.
Persistent marks (lime deposits) are best removed with Grohclean.
Grohclean is our own, intensive cleaning agent for sanitary fittings,
which is not only extremely effective but also mild, does not attack
the product surfaces and is environmentally-friendly.
It is also easy to use, i.e. simply apply, leave briefly to take effect,
rinse off thoroughly with clean water and wipe the fitting dry.
Grohclean is obtainable from your installer under part No. 18 099.
Caution: Under no circumstances use scouring agents, abrasive
sponges, hydrochloric acid, lime, plaster or cement removers or
other solvents or cleaning agents containing acid, i.e. so-called
lime-scale removers or vinegar (acetic acid)-based cleaners. In
view of the multiplicity of domestic and bathroom cleaners and
other special-purpose cleaners on the market and the fact that their
formulations are liable to change, we recommend that they should
not be used for cleaning our fittings.
In view of the foregoing, please note that damage to surface
material caused by incorrect treatment is not covered by the terms
of the guarantee.
