TIPS TO HELP YOU ENJOY YOUR NEW PRESSURE COOKER
This is not your mother's Pressure Cooker!
• Never fill the pressure cooker more than
valves to clog.
• Always use a kitchen timer; exact timing is very important.
• Wash your pressure cooker well in warm soapy water after each use. Make
sure the valves area is free of debris and rub the sealing ring with mineral oil
after each use.
• All foods cooked in the pressure cooker require liquid to build the steam that
cooks the food.
• Flavors are intensified in the pressure cooker; be careful not to over flavor
foods. Fresh herbs are better added just before serving.
• Because vegetables cook quickly in the pressure cooker, it is better to add
them after the meat has cooked until almost tender.
• When cooking any foods that include tomatoes, remove from the pressure
cooker as soon as they are fully cooked to avoid the foods having a metallic
flavor.
• Brown meats in oil or butter to add flavor to the cooking liquids.
• Because the pressure cooker intensifies flavors, strong oils such as peanut
and extra virgin oil should be used sparingly.
• Hand washing is recommended for all parts of the pressure cooker.
• Do not store the pressure cooker closed; remove the lid to allow air flow.
• The pressure cooker cannot be opened unless all pressure has been
released and the red pin is fully down.
