Ask These Questions:
1. Is the compressor to be replaced a side or top discharge?
2. Can the exhaust line be reused?
3. Are all water ports 1/2" NPT?
4. Are EL850 all 1/2"?
5. Will additional lines and fittings be required to relocate
governor?
6. Will additional water lines and fittings be required for
installation?
7. Is adequate air flow available for air cooled models?
Optional Installation Choices:
1. Remote mount governor.
2. Remote mount air cleaner.
3. Head can be rotated to any 90° position.
4. Air or water cooled models are available.
THRU DRIVE MODEL
Some B-Series engines are designed to drive the power
steering pump off the rear of the air compressor.
If the existing components cannot be reused the thru drive kit
SN3072BW (below) can be purchased from Haldex. The bendix
thru drive adapter housing will not fit the Haldex compressor .

Changeover Materials that Must be
Supplied:
1. The EL850 requires no discharge manifold. Use 1/2" pipe
to discharge line fittings.
2. Possibly need to 1/2" to 3/8" water port reducers.
3. If replacement is changed to naturally aspirated, supply
KN19040 and pipe plug to plug the turbocharger port on
the engine.
Changeover Material that Should be
Considered:
1. For ease of changeover and extended life of the
compressor, use the KN17500 Series Flexible Teflon
Discharge Line Kit.
2. Let the compressor breathe. Use a KN19040
Heavy-Duty filter.
3. Universal Waterline Kit SN3502 to hookup coolant lines.
Changeover Material that Might be
Required:
1. Remote Mount Governor Kit SN4011B.
2. Drive gear and drive coupler.
3. Thru drive kit.
4. Inlet check valve kit SN3711AJ can be used to reduce
unloaded horsepower requirements and for installations
which have demonstrated excessive oil consumption.

All units for this application have a flange oil drain. Drive Gear
can generally be reused. Allow enough time to purchase this
item from the engine manufacturer if the gear is not in
reusable condition.
