3. CONNECTING THE UNIT & QUICK-START GUIDE

3.1 Basic operation

1. Plug the power cord into a grounded wall socket of the rated input line voltage.
2. Connect the footswitch to the unit.
3. Turn On the unit by pressing the Power button
4. Turn Off the unit by pressing the Power button
must be out of set-up mode in order to do this. I.e. no flashing numbers on the
display.
5. To Abort a Profile (to the Cool-Down zone) press and hold the footswitch down
while in Run Mode.
3.2 Quick Start
Example 1: To Run Profile 4
Push to Power On.
(↵) Push button once, P-number Flashes.
⊕ or
until P4 is displayed (flashing).
(↵) Push button once, to select P4 (P4 stops flashing).
Press footswitch to run Profile.
Example 2: To Modify Profile 2
Push to Power On.
(↵)Push button once, P-number Flashes.
⊕ or
until P2 is displayed (flashing).
(↵) to select P2 (P2 stops flashing).
Press and hold (↵) for 2 seconds. Z1 temperature will start to flash.
⊕ or
until desired temperature is displayed.
(↵) to set temperature and step forward. Z1 time will start to flash.
⊕ or
until desired time is displayed.
(↵) to set time and step forward. Repeat for each remaining heat zone.
(↵) ZC time flashes.
⊕ or
until desired cool-down time is displayed.
Press and hold (↵) for 2 seconds to exit program mode.
Press the footswitch if you wish to run this Profile.
4. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

4.1 Run Mode ~ Normal usage: 4 Heating Zone Profile
1. Turn on the unit by pressing the Power button
2. PCT start-up message and Software Rev # are momentarily displayed before
displaying last-used profile settings (see Figure 2. above).
IMPORTANT ~ If "TC: TC1" is displayed on the panel (see Figure. 2 above)
ensure that the external thermocouple is suitably positioned in the heat path.
Neglecting to do this could result in premature heater failure. Refer to section
4.4 and the Advanced User's Guide for more information.
3. To start this profile, simply depress the footswitch once. To select another
profile, press the Mode button (↵).
"P-number" starts to flash on the display and you can now use the ⊕ /

5. When the chosen profile is shown, press (↵) to select the desired profile.
