FILTER CLEANING

METALLIC PRE-FILTER CLEANING
1. Remove the dust using a vacuum cleaner
2. Wash the filter by immersing in hot water with
liquid detergent.
3. Rinse carefully with running water.
4. Dry the filter near to a heat source.
ELECTROSTATIC FILTER CLEANING
Follow the instructions carefully!
1. Dilute the special liquid detergent with very hot
water (60°/70° C) and fully immerse the filter pla-
ced horizontally for about two hours.
A special, purposely-designed, liquid detergent is
supplied by ARTEL and should be diluted with a
ratio of 1 litre for every 10 litres of water.
WARNING! Do not use brushes or other objects
to remove the deposit from the collector plates to
avoid damaging the filter.
2. Rinse the filter carefully with running water.
3. Dry the filter vertically (keeping the contact
clips facing upwards) near to a heat source.
N.B. when the air cleaner is used normally, the
activated carbon filter should be replaced at least
every six months. For the DSCL Model, before
refitting the filters, clean the germicidal lamp
carefully with a dry cloth. When replacing the
lamp, simply rotate the lamp by half a turn and
withdraw it carefully (See fig.1).
WARNING! Prolonged exposure to the ultraviolet
radiation produced by the lamp may cause harm-
ful effects such as reddening of the skin and
conjunctivitis. For this reason the DSCL model is
supplied with appropriate safeguards. For this rea-
son the DSCL only operates with the carbon filter.
FILTER ASSEMBLY
To re-fit the filters, simply insert them into the
same guides from which they were removed and
replace the grille once the filters have been fitted.
Make sure that the electrostatic filters are perfec-
tly dry and that the high tension clips are pressing
on the brass contacts situated inside the air clea-
ner.
1. Close the door using the tool-holder ìAî sup-
plied and lock it by turning the two screws situa-
ted at the sides;
2. Insert the plug and start the air cleaner.
N.B. The air cleaner waits in standby ("0" on the
display) each time it is supplied with power.
