3. RECOVER:
a. If the battery is deeply discharged to approximately 4.1 Volts, the Oximiser 900 will
charge at up to 900mA/hr until it reaches 11.8 Volts and the bulk charge mode.
b. In this mode the battery "on-charge" indicator will show up-to 2 bars as an indication of
the battery charge level.
Note: It is possible that a battery under 4 volts may not be recoverable. Also it is possible
that any battery that has dropped below 8 volts may never fully recover to full capacity.
4. BULK CHARGE:
a. From 11.8 Volts, charging progresses at up to 900mA/hr until the battery has re
charged and has reached an "on-charge" voltage of 14 Volts.
b. The battery can be used to start the vehicle at this stage although full charge will not
be reached until the maintain mode is reached. The charge rate will reduce as the
voltage increases.
c. In this mode the battery "on-charge" indicator will show up-to 8 bars as an indication of
the battery charge level.
5. MAINTAIN ( FLOAT CHARGE ):
a. The Oximiser 900 will maintain and optimise the battery indefinitely so long as it
remains connected to the battery.
b. Continual voltage monitoring determines the battery condition and charge rate
requirements.
i. At 14.4Volts the charging is automatically stopped
ii. If the battery voltage drops below 12.6V it will apply the necessary charge rate to
ensure the battery remains in perfect condition. The Oximiser 900 will apply
a gentle charge up-to 200mA/h to ensure the battery is brought up to a full charge.
iii. If the battery remains in optimum condition, the Oximiser 900 will not attempt to
charge the battery, therefore no over-charging can occur.
c. In this mode the battery "on-charge" indicator will not be shown.
(C) IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This manual contains important safety and operating instructions for battery charger
Model: Oximiser 900.
1. Do not expose charger to rain or snow. For indoor operating use only.
2. Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the battery charger manufacturer
may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
3. To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord, pull by plug rather than cord when
disconnecting charger.
4. An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper
extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extension cord
must be used, make sure:
a) That pins on plug of extension cord are the same number, size, and shape as those of
plug on charger;
b) That extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition; and
c) That wire size is large enough for ac ampere rating of charger.
5. Do not operate charger with damaged cord or plug – replace the cord or plug
immediately. If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
6. Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise
damaged in any way; take it to a qualified serviceman. Please note that Oxford
Products are unable to offer this facility. If the charger case is opened it will invalidate
