Note: Do not press the handle too hard. If pressed too hard, steam will get trapped in the dough and can
come apart.
Note: You may open and close the top cooking plate again to acquire the desired size of tortilla.
•
In order to prevent the tortilla from being uneven, rotate the dough about ½ of a circle, close the lid
and press it quickly one more time for 2 to 3 seconds.
•
Open the top plate, the tortilla will be ready to be flipped when you see bubbles form the top side.
Note: Flip the tortilla with nylon or wooden turner.
•
Gently close the top cooking plate and hold it to touch the tortilla slightly. Do not press and finish
cooking tortilla for about 20 – 30 seconds.
•
Once done remove the tortilla using a wood or nylon turner.
•
Turn the temperature control dial to OFF.
•
Allow to cool completely before handling.
To Cook Rotis & Naan
•
Make the desired amount of balls of roti dough, about 1 to 2 inches in diameter.
Note: Use Atta / Chapatti flour (a finely ground whole wheat flour) to make Rotis or Naan.
•
Place appliance on a flat stable surface.
Caution: Because some countertop finishes are more sensitive than others, use care not to place the
appliance on surfaces where heat may cause damage.
•
Plug into a standard 120 Volt AC outlet.
•
The red light indicator "POWER" will come on indicating that the unit is heating.
•
Lift handle and raise the top cooking plate using thumb press and lifting handle.
Note: Do not leave the appliance in closed position while preheating.
•
Set the temperature desired by turning the temperature control dial and align it with the mark located
below the indicator lights "
Note: Medium to high heat is recommended for making rotis.
•
The green light indicator "READY" will come on. When light goes off, the chosen cooking temperature
has been reached. During cooking, the light will blink on and off indicating the temperature is being
maintained.
•
Place the ball of roti dough on the bottom cooking plate slightly off center, towards the hinge.
