Additional accessories
The video internal uses 6-wire cabling. Use a twisted cable for optimum quality of the video image.
Also pay attention to the diameter of the conductors in the cable as it will determine the maximum distance that can be bridged between the power supply
and the video internal unit.
Niko recommends the use of the following cables for installation of the video internal unit:
• JYSTY (-F2) min. 3 x 2 x 0.8mm (max. distance 200m);
• TVVF (-F2) min. 3 x 2 x 0.8mm (max. distance 200m);
• TPVF min. 3 x 2 x 0.6mm (max. distance 100m);
• UTP/FTP/STP 4 x 2 x 0.5mm (max. distance 70m).
Note
• The above-mentioned maximum distances apply if one only of the unis is active. If 2 monitors are connected in parallel to the same cable, divide the
maximum distance by 2; for 3 monitors, divide by 3, etc.
• Up to 6 monitors (line IN and line OUT) can be connected. To connect more than 6 monitors or for star wiring, use videosplitters. Each videosplitter output
can again receive up to 6 monitors.
Function of the wires to be connected:
• terminals a & b: communication bus (24 VDC)
• terminals V1 & V2: video signal
• terminal P & M: extra power supply (26 VDC)
3. MOUNTING
Note! Disconnect all power before installing the video internal unit. Do not connect the unit to the power supply until installation is complete.
This manual describes the surface mounting of the monitor. Flush mounting or mounting on a base for use as a desk unit is described in the manual of flush
mounting frames 10-565 and base 10-566.
To mount the video internal unit, proceed as follows:
➥ 1
Mount the mounting plate on the wall using
the appropriate screws.
A optional installation holes
B contact surface for internal unit
C positioning pins
D installation holes
E info field minimum wall distance
F
terminals
G position of flush mounting box
H fixing pins
I
cable inlet
➥ 2
Connect the wiring as shown in the wiring diagram on page 31
Note
• In a single system, use the same colour code for the same terminals (a, b, P, ...) for all products of the Access Control Standard range.
• A floor bell push-button can always be connected between terminals E and P.
• In case of line cabling, the wires for the video signal always have to be connected directly to terminals V1 and V2.
Branching on the wires themselves is prohibited.
• In case of star cabling, use splitters (see catalogue)
