To avoid the hazards identified below, check your cushion daily to
determine that the cushion is properly adjusted and in
working order.
DEFLATION: Loss of air in cushion can result in bottoming out
(see below), eliminating (if not immediately fixed) the
characteristics of the cushion that assist in healing and
preventing pressure ulcers. It is your responsibility to check the
cushion daily and to use the cushion appropriately.
BOTTOMING OUT: Too much air being released can cause your
lowest bony prominence to touch the cushion base. This
decreases the therapeutic value of the cushion and could result
in pressure ulcers. Product must be adjusted so approximately
1/2" (1.25 cm) of air is maintained between the DRY FLOATATION
cushion insert and your lowest bony prominence.
DO NOT:
• sit on cushion with pins or sharp objects in pockets or in other
areas that may contact the cushion.
• expose cushion to hot cigarette ashes.
• use the air valve as a handle.
• use oil based lotion or lanolin on your cushion, as they may
compromise the integrity of the rubber.
• use the cushion as a water flotation device.
Please contact The ROHO Group or your nearest Rehabilitation
Technology Supplier or distributor immediately if deflation or
bottoming out that you cannot remedy is occurring for
any reason.
