Mechanism of action
The Narval CC™ device maintains the lower jaw – mandible – in a
forward position which in turn draws forward the base of the tongue and
widens the airways in the pharynx area (behind the tongue).
This has two effects:
It reduces the risk of obstruction,partial or complete, thus decreasing
the amount of apnoea and hypopnoea. These obstructions lead to sleep
arousals which disturb the physiological sleep cycle.
It lowers the speed of air that is inhaled, thus reducing vibrations of soft
tissues which generate the snoring noise.

Indications
The Narval CC
prescription and intended to treat snoring and/or OSAS (Obstructive
Sleep Apnea Syndrome) in adults.
In case of severe apnea, the Narval CC
intention after CPAP refusal or failure or for patients who are non-compli-
ant with CPAP .
