SYMPTOM
Motor stops while cutting
Motor runs, but saw
chain does not rotate
Pole saw does not cut
properly

TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Chain pinched in cut.
Overheating of control system.
Safety switch not pressed.
Debris in side cover.
Overheating of motor.
Chain not engaging drive sprocket.
Guide bar nose sprocket is not turning.
Insufficient chain tension.
Dull chain.
Chain installed backwards.
Worn chain.
Dry or excessively stretched chain.
Chain not in bar groove.
Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel
Undercut limb to relieve pressure on limb.
Let the unit cool down.
Press the safety switch before squeezing the
trigger switch.
Remove chain sprocket cover and clean out
debris.
Let the motor cool down.
Reinstall the chain, making sure the drive
links on the chain are fully seated on the
drive sprocket.
Replace the guide bar.
Tension the chain.
Sharpen or replace the chain.
Install the chain with the teeth facing the
correct direction.
Replace the chain.
Check the oil level. Refill oil reservoir if
necessary.
Reseat chain onto groove.
