MWW Welding and Cutting Torch - Putting the Cutting Torch into Operation
5 Putting the Cutting Torch into Operation
The handle is prepared similarly to section 4 on page 23.
5.1
Torch Ignition
Open the oxygen valve (5)
•
Do a half-turn on the fuel gas valve (4)
•
Ignite the outflowing gas at the outlet of the cutting nozzle (8)
•
While adjusting the fuel gas valve (4) open the oxygen valve (5) much
•
wider. This is necessary to achieve a good cutting oxygen jet
The heating oxygen valve (10) can be used to adjust the hardness of the
•
heating flame
5.2
Cutting
If it is possible, attach a guide block to the head of the cutting torch and
•
adjust the distance between the nozzle and the surface of the material
Place the cutting torch with the adjusted heating flame on the material
•
to be cut
Once the material has achieved white heat, open the cutting oxygen
•
valve (11)
Move the cutting torch smoothly in a drawing movement, if possible
•
Smooth and even handling ensures a clean cut
