1. Installation

1.
Mount the Ballast Connect Micro to the wall using
the included mounting kit.
2.
If desired, connect a Temp Probe to the bottom of
the Ballast Connect Micro.
3.
First, put the plugs of the lamps in the outlets of
the Ballast Connect Micro.
4.
After that, connect the plug of the Ballast Connect
Micro to a 230V outlet (minimum 10A).
5.
Ready!
ATTENTION: NEVER plug a lamp into the Ballast
Connect Micro and NEVER remove a lamp's plug
from the Ballast Connect Micro when the relays
(sockets) are on. You may only connect or
disconnect the plugs of lamps when the relays are
switched off by the "maintenance mode", otherwise
the relays may be damaged (see section 5.8).
The relays of the Ballast Connect Micro are not
covered by warranty.

2. Operation

The Ballast Connect Micro is intended for switching 2
lights on and off. The lamps are switched on and off
one at a time, with an interval of 5 seconds. If the
connected Temp Probe measures a temperature above
the set "Overheat T" value, 1 relay will be turned off.
This can be a random lamp, but there is also the option
to always switch off relay L2. In this case L1 (lamp 1)
remains switched on, even during an over-temperature
situation (see section 5.5). Only when the temperature
drops below the "Normal" value the lamp will be
switched on again.

2.1 Hybrid relays

The Ballast Connect Micro can switch 2 x 600W
(maximum 1200W). Each lamp is switched individually
by means of hybrid relays, to avoid peak flows.

2.2 Temperature protection

The Ballast Connect Micro has temperature protection.
In case of an over-temperature situation, 1 lamp will be
turned off until the desired temperature is reached
again. This can be a random lamp, but there is also the
option to always switch off relay L2. In this case L1
(lamp 1) remains switched on, even during an over-
temperature situation (see section 5.5).

This function only works if a Temp Probe is connected
(not supplied).
ATTENTION: Before connecting the Temp Probe you
must first switch off the Ballast Connect Micro via
the "maintenance mode" (see section 5.8). Then
disconnect the Ballast Connect Micro from the
socket. Plug the Temp Probe into the Ballast
Connect Micro and reconnect the Ballast Connect
Micro to the socket.

2.3 Asymmetric time clock

The Ballast Connect Micro has 2 different time clocks: a
24-hour timer and an asymmetric timer. The
asymmetric timer allows you to extend or shorten the
24-hour cycle.

2.4 Switch-on delay

In the event of a power failure, the controller can delay
switch-on. You can select delay times up to 300
minutes.
3. Which sensors can be connected to
the Ballast Connect Micro?
Only a Temp Probe can be connected to the Ballast
Connect Micro. The Temp Probe is available in lengths
of 2 meter, 5 meter and 10 meter.
The Ballast Connect Micro can not monitor temperature
if there is no connection with a Temp Probe. In this
case, temperature protection does not work!
ATTENTION: Before connecting the Temp Probe you
must first switch off the Ballast Connect Micro via
the "maintenance mode" (see section 5.8). Then
disconnect the Ballast Connect Micro from the
socket. Plug the Temp Probe into the Ballast
Connect Micro and reconnect the Ballast Connect
Micro to the socket.

4. Meaning LEDs

L1-L2: indicates that the relay is switched on.
In the event of a malfunction, the LED will
be off and the outlet will be on. In that case,
contact the seller of the Ballast Connect
Micro.
