INSTALL THE REMOTE (MATCHMAKER X)
Remote - Install the remote bracket nut in the channel
on the inside surface of the remote clamp. Position
the remote bracket on the outside of the
MatchMaker X (MMX) clamp and install the MMX
bracket bolt. Use a T25 TORX ® to torque the bracket
bolt to 3-4 N·m (35-44 in-lb).
Brake lever - Position the brake lever against the
handlebar. Close the remote clamp around the
handlebar and brake lever. Insert the remote clamp
bolt and loosely tighten the bolt to hold the assembly
together. Rotate the remote clamp to the desired
position and use a T25 TORX to tighten the clamp bolt
to 5-6 N·m (43-52 in-lb).
Shifter - Attach the shifter to the remote bracket with
the shifter mounting bolt. Use a T25 TORX wrench to
torque the shifter mounting bolt to 2.8-3.4 N∙m
(25-30 in-lb). Reposition the shifter if necessary by
loosening the MMX bracket bolt, adjusting the angle of
the shifter, and re-tightening the bracket bolt to
3-4 N·m (35-44 in-lb).
