2. Remove the drawbolt from the slotted holes on the bottom of the PLIDCO Smith+Clamp and
spread the PLIDCO Smith+Clamp open so that it can be assembled around the pipe as shown in
Figure 2.
3. Loosely assemble the PLIDCO Smith+Clamp on the pipe next to the leak. Insert the drawbolt, but
do not tighten.
4. To assist with the alignment of the PLIDCO Smith+Clamp, it can be helpful to mark the location of
the hole relative to the center of the seal cone by using a grease pen as shown in Figure 3. Mark
a horizontal line longitudinally down the center of the pipe, and 2 vertical lines centered around
the hole that are the same width apart as the Smith+Clamp band.
5. Using the marking or pilot pin to locate the pinhole, slide the PLIDCO Smith+Clamp over the leak
as shown in Figure 4.
