Troubleshooting

Problem
Red LED (13) does not illuminate and Battery (9) not
charging
Battery pack has low capacity
Slow rotation speed
No function when Trigger Switch (6) is operated
Hedge trimmer operates intermittently
Motor operates but blades remain stationary
Blade becomes hot during use
Excessive vibrations or noise

Possible cause
Battery not correctly inserted
Charger not powered
Battery not being fully charged
Battery pack has been charged over 100 times and capacity
has started to reduce
Tool is overheating
No power
Defective Trigger Switch
Extension cable damaged
Internal wiring damaged
One or both switches defective
Carbon brushes worn
Internal fault
Blade blunt
Blade damage
Too much friction
Internal fault

Solution
Clean battery socket of charger
Recheck mains connection
Charge the Battery until the Charge Indicator (10) shows a
full charge
This is normal for battery packs. Contact your GMC dealer to
purchase a replacement battery pack
Switch off the tool and let it cool down to room temperature.
Inspect and clean the ventilation slots
Check power supply
Replace the Trigger Switch at an authorised GMC service
centre
Inspect cable, replace if damaged
Have your hedge trimmer serviced by an authorised GMC
service centre
Have your hedge trimmer serviced by an authorised GMC
service centre
Have the brushes replaced by an authorised GMC service
centre
Have your hedge trimmer serviced by an authorised GMC
service centre
Sharpen blade or return hedge trimmer to an authorised
GMC service centre for blade replacement
Return the hedge trimmer to an authorised GMC service
centre for blade replacement
Apply lubricant
Have your hedge trimmer serviced by an authorised GMC
service centre
