Installation of sandstone stove Morsø 8145
Soapstone is a soft natural material that must be treated with care when installing the stove.
We recommend that two people undertake the installation to prevent accidental scratches and
damage to the stove.
The floor on which the stove is assembled must be level to ensure that the assembly of the
stove and the loose soapstone sides can be carried out properly.
Place the stove on the floor in its final position. Please ensure that the stove is true to spirit
level prior to continuing the installation.
Fit the two steel fittings included to the tops of
the two sandstone side panels using the screws
provided (see sketch).
Take care not to over-tighten or the bushings
in the sandstone could be pulled out.
Place the sandstone side panel on the cast
base of the stove. Then lift it high enough for
the fitting on the sandstone side panel to pass
over the top of the fitting fixed to the cast firebox
and slide it down behind this fitting to "lock" the
sandstone in place and prevent it from toppling
out (see sketch). Then push the sandstone side
panel as far to the rear as possible.
