To perform pump maintenance:
A.
Disconnect the Pumps (K and L) from the Support Base (A) by unscrewing their
compression rings.
B.
If installed, pull the Venturi Injector (N) from the Secondary Pump (L).
C.
Remove the pump intake cover from the Primary Pump (K).
D.
Unscrew the TEAL colored ring in the front of both pumps.
D.
Remove the Pre-chambers and impellers from both pumps and rinse them under
fresh water.
E.
If salt or limescale deposits are present, it is recommended to clean the affected
parts with water and vinegar (away from the aquarium sump) using a soft brush
to remove the deposits. Do not use detergents or solvents that could damage the
products or be harmful to aquatic organisms.
F.
Check the Pre-chamber O-rings; even a small amount of wear or damage can hinder
the performance of the pumps. In this case, it is recommended to replace the
O-rings.
G.
Thoroughly rinse the pumps and their parts before returning them to the reactor.
H.
Reassemble everything in the reverse order.
Troubleshooting
Symptom
The pump is noisy
14
Possible Causes
The water level of the sump is too
low for the reactor and the pump
does not suck in enough water to
work properly.
The pump intake is blocked.
Lime and salt deposits and/or
natural wear
Solution
Restore the minimum recommended
water level in sump.
Dismantle the pump and check
that all its parts are in order. Check
the cleanliness and positioning of
the impeller and any presence of
limescale.
Replace the impeller
