OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Read and understand this entire manual before operating this electric

heating tape.
STEP 1
Remove heater from box. Visually inspect heater. Do not use if torn or damaged.
STEP 2
Installing your heating tape:
The flexible heating tape can be installed on either a flat surface or a curved surface with a radius
greater to or equal to 3/16". For a flat surface, lay the heating tape onto the surface to be heated.
For a curved surface, wrap the heating tape onto the surface to be heated. Attach the heating
tape to the surface by using aluminum tape, fiberglass tape, or a mechanical clamping device
which will not cause damage to the heating tape.

The length of one entire side of the heating tape must be in full contact with the surface.

Ensure the heating tape is not kinked, twisted, or any portion of the tape hanging free from
the surface (A).

Thermostat sensor must be in full contact with object to be heated. Sensor is located
underneath temperature controller box (B).


STEP 3 (OPTIONAL)
Cover heater with any noncombustible insulation (not included).

STEP 4
If your heater is equipped with a plug then plug the power cord into the appropriate outlet.
If your heater is not equipped with a plug then connect the black wire to Line 1 and the white wire
to Line 2 complying with all local electrical code requirements.
If your heater is equipped with a green ground wire then connect this wire to earth ground.
All power connections must be adequately rated to electrically support the voltage and amperage
requirements of the heater which are visible on the part label. Overcurrent protection should
exceed the heaters amperage requirement by at least 10%.
STEP 5
Adjust dial to desired setting between 50-425°F (10-218°C).
WARNING: Temperature controller dial and enclosure will become very hot after use. Always
de-energize before installation or servicing.

The following table provides maximum temperature settings for common materials. You are
responsible for determining the maximum temperature for materials not on this list. The heater
setting should never exceed the maximum temperature of the material being heated.


No maintenance required.

Do not altar the heater in any way.

Store in a clean, dry area.
