IMPORTANT: Do not use any pure gas (lighter and gas spray etc) directly
over the sensor because this can cause irreparable damage.
IN CASE OF ALARM
- Turn off all flames.
- Close the pass key to the meter or gas cylinder
- Do not operate any electrical switch or operate any other electrical
device.
- Open all doors and window to increase ventilation.
If the alarm stops it is necessary to identify its cause and act in
consequence.
If the alarm continues and the leak cannot be identified and/or not resolved,
all premises must be evacuated and the gas emergency services notified
immediately.
PRECAUTIONS:
Use only a damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit. It is not recommended that
the unit be opened.
The sensor has good resistance against products, such as sprays, detergents,
alcohols, glues and paint. However, such products can contain substances which,
in large quantities could alter sensor properties and lead to false alarms. If any of
these products are used, it is recommended that the room be well ventilated.
It must be remembered that the TWIST unit is unable to detect any gas leaks
occurring outside the room in which it is installed or within the walls or under the
floor.
A particularly unpleasant odorous substance is added to gases such as methane,
propane and butane to make them easily detectable. However, the small amounts
of gas released when cooker burners are opened for a few minutes, will not cause
detector alarm, even when the smell is clearly noticeable, provided the amount of
gas in the environment is less than the alarm threshold (10% LEL)
