11. Slide ring bracket APB245 and LSDU to the AVM2-PC anti backlash coupling with the Lubricated
Service Drive Spindle fitted, the LSDU should fit directly into the recessed section of the Lubricated
Service Drive Spindle.
Do not re-tighten ring bracket securing bolt to machine bed at this stage. If the Service Drive output
shaft does not align and fit into the recess on the lubricated service drive spindle fitted to the AVM2-
PC anti backlash coupling re-check pre-installation checks as detailed on page 7. If the pre-
installation checks are within limits and the LSDU will still not align contact your distributor for advice.
12. Tighten 4 bolts (M8 x 25 SKT Cap) to 50NM through shaft flange from ADC298 Lubricated Service
Drive Unit into Lubricated Service Drive Spindle.
13. Tighten ring bracket APB245 securing bolt to AVM2-PC machine bed.
14. Fit Tang Drive plate to Service Drive unit as shown in fig 6 below.

15. Fit Pump ensuring pump output shaft aligns with Tang Drive plate, the Service Drive unit is supplied
as standard to fit Siemens Common Rail pumps (5WS40163 and 5WS40019).
Filling LSDU
16. Remove ¼" BSPT Socket Pressure Plug from the top of the LSDU.
Oil Suction Gun
- 8983004
17. Fill oil suction gun (part number 8983004) with approx 100cc of lubrication oil. The level of the oil
should not exceed the start of the ¼" BSPT socket pressure plug hole. Fit nozzle of oil suction gun to
oil fill tube on the LSDU.
18. Press the plunger inwards slowly to fill the LSDU with oil.
19. If the oil overflows too much, oil has been pumped in, drain off oil using the oil suction gun by
retracting the plunger outwards.
20. Re-fit ¼" BSPT Socket Pressure Plug. ADC298 Lubricated Service Drive Unit is ready to be used.
21. To remove the oil from the LSDU using the suction gun (part number 8983004) via the oil fill tube
ensuring the ¼" BSPT Socket Pressure Plug is removed.
