Potentiometer
The resistance of the potentiometer can be
changed between 0 and 5 kiloohms accord­
ing to the user requirements by turning the
adjuster.
A typical application example is the checking
of temperature sensors and position sensors
as they are found in damper flaps, fuel sen­
sors, intake­manifold throttle adjusters and
air control valves in the air­conditioning sys­
tem, for example.
Polarity tester
Depending on the direction of the current
flow, the LED colour changes from red for
positive voltage to green for negative volt­
age. Typical application examples are the
checking of hall sensors, photo­sensors or
whether injectors are positive­controlled or
earth­controlled, for instance.
Test resistor, SRS
The test resistor (approx. 2 Ohm) can be
used for diagnostic purposes in many SRS
systems. The test resistor is attached in place
of the airbag, the SRS system can then be
checked for error codes or, if necessary, for
resistance values in the live data with the
help of a suitable diagnostic device.
