The use of other materials such as strong
detergents, solvents, petroleum products, etc.
can cause crazing (cracking) of the plastic
domes.
B. Cleaning Reflectors and Mirrors.
Use a soft tissue to clean the reflector and mirrors.
Avoid heavy pressure and the use of caustic or petroleum
base solvents which will scratch or dull the surface.
C. Options.
See figure 2. Remove and retain the two 1/4-20 pan
head screws, which secure the dome to the extrusion. This
will allow the dome to slide, thus allowing access to any
particular option located on one half of the Aerodynic light
bar.

52" and 72" AeroDynic 9 Button Reflector
Assembly Replacement.
a.
See figure 3.
b.
Disconnect all power to the light before
performing any maintenance.
c.
Unplug the connector from the PC Board
located on the back of the reflector.
d.
Remove and retain the 4 mounting
screws, which secure the reflector bracket to the extrusion.
e.
Remove and discard the defective 9
button reflector assembly.
f.
Install the new 9 button reflector assem-
bly by performing the previous steps in reverse order.
2.
22" Aerodynic 6 or 9 Button Reflector
Assembly Replacement.
a.
See figure 4 (6 button shown).
b.
Disconnect all power to the light before
performing any maintenance.
c.
Remove and retain the (5) mounting
screws, which secure the upper level mounting plate
assembly.
d.
Carefully turn the mounting plate
assembly over and unplug the wire connector from the PC
Board located on the back of the defective reflector assem-
bly.
WARNING
e.
Remove and retain the (2) screws, which
secure the reflector assembly to the mounting plate
assembly.
f.
Install the new 6 or 9 button reflector
assembly by performing the previous steps in reverse order.
It will be necessary to remove the upper level mount-
ing bracket and (4) screws, along with the lower level
mounting plate screws (5) to access any defective
reflector assembly on the lower level mounting plate.
D. Service.
The Federal factory will service your equipment or
provide technical assistance with any problems that cannot
be handled locally.
Any units returned to Federal Signal for service,
inspection, or repair must be accompanied by Return
Material Authorization. This R.M.A. can be obtained from a
local Distributor or Manufacturer's Representative.
At this time a brief explanation of the service
requested, or the nature of the malfunction, should be
provided.
