NOTE
If you have a scanner that uses
the Power-off-Terminal (POT)
option, you cannot perform this
test without the appropriate AC
to DC power supply.
1. DISCONNECT POWER
Disconnect the power supply from
the AC power outlet.
2. DISCONNECT INTERFACE
Disconnect the interface cable
between the scanner to the terminal.
3. RECONNECT POWER
After you have disconnected the
scanner-to-terminal interface cable,
reconnect the power cable.
4. SELF-TEST ROUTINE
The scanner performs a complex
power-up self-test that checks the
operations of the scanner hardware
and software. If successful, the
speaker sounds a tone and the green
lamp lights indicating the scanner
passed self-test.

When the interface cable has been disconnected and reconnected,
the scanner may read one or two labels before it must be reset.
