Once you have determined the appropriate position of the lifter,
remove the remaining backing from the adhesive mounting tape
and press the lifter firmly into place.
TO MAKE A CALL WHILST WEARING A HEADSET
A.
Press the headset/handset button on your amplifier. This instructs the
lifter to raise the telephone handset from the hookswitch. When you
hear the dial tone in your headset, dial the number in the usual way.
B.
When your call is complete, press the headset/handset button again to
lower the handset and end the call.
TO RECEIVE A CALL WHILST WEARING A HEADSET
A.
When the telephone rings, you will hear a beep in your headset
(If this does not happen refer to the Troubleshooting section of this user
guide). Press the headset/handset button on your amplifier.
This instructs the lifter to raise the telephone handset from the
hookswitch and switches the call to your headset.
B.
When your call is complete, press the headset/handset button again to
lower the handset and end the call.
INSTALLATION OF THE HL10 WITH CORDLESS AMPLIFIERS
1.
Remove the handset lifter from the packaging and identify the
components as detailed in the diagrams A-D on Page 2.

IMPORTANT – Do not remove the backing from the adhesive mounting
tape until directed to do so.
3.
Disconnect the amplifier from the power supply. Plug the power cable
of the handset lifter into the accessory port on the amplifier and then
reconnect the power supply. NOTE – if using an On-line Indicator in
conjunction with your amplifier this must be disconnected from the
amplifier and plugged into the accessory port on the handset lifter.

Position the HL10 under the telephone handset close to the hookswitch
and remove a small section of the backing from the adhesive mounting
tape to temporarily position the lifter. It is not necessary to secure the
lifter using all 3 sections of tape – select the one most suitable for your

telephone.

When the lifter is in position you can test its operation. Ensure your
cordless base unit is in headset mode. Press the "talk" button on your
remote unit (or headset if applicable). This will activate the lifter and
raise the handset. You will now hear a dial tone in your headset. The
On-line indicator, if fitted, will also flash.

The lifter height switch has three positions - low, medium and high.
Choose the lowest setting which allows the lifter to raise the handset
clear of the hookswitch. After selecting the height, press the "talk"
button several times to ensure correct alignment of the handset lifter
and free movement of the handset.

Once you have determined the appropriate position of the lifter,
remove the remaining backing from the adhesive mounting tape and
press the lifter firmly into place.
TO MAKE A CALL WHILST WEARING A HEADSET
A.
Press the "talk" button on your remote unit (or headset if applicable).
This will instruct the lifter to raise the telephone handset from the
hookswitch, and switches the call to your headset. When you hear the
dial tone in your headset, dial the number in the usual way.
B.
When your call is complete, push the "talk" button again to lower the
handset and end the call.
To use the handset, ensure that the amplifier is in handset mode and
use the handset in the normal way.
TO RECEIVE A CALL WHILST WEARING A HEADSET
A.
When the telephone rings the lifter will recognise this and you will hear
a beep in your headset and remote unit. (If this does not happen refer
to the Troubleshooting section of this user guide).
B.
Press the "talk" button on your remote unit (or headset if applicable). This
instructs the lifter to raise the telephone handset from the hookswitch
and switches the call to your headset.
C.
When your call is complete, push the "talk" button again to lower the
handset and end the call.
